Proposal to Ban Snus in Schools Gains Support for Including Teachers

The use of snus is increasing avalanche-like among young people in Sweden. The tobacco industry describes it as a success story in the fight against smoking – a claim that is contradicted by research in the area. Now the question is whether the government will proceed with the proposal to ban snusing in school. According to the Public Health Agency, it would be good if teachers were also covered by such a ban. How adults behave plays a role in how children and young people perceive the risks of a product, says investigator Grethe Fochsen.
