The 60-year-old woman was arrested in December on reasonable suspicion of four counts of aggravated assault. She was released a week later when the district court did not consider the evidence sufficient to hold her.
In connection with the arrest, the woman was suspended from her job. Now Akademiska Hospital has fired her.
"I think it's shocking and badly handled. She's not charged or convicted of anything. It's a cowardly way out," the woman's lawyer Stefan Wallin told UNT.
She denies the crime.
A total of four employees at the children's hospital at Akademiska are suspected of having been poisoned at work in October and November.
