A total of seven professional soldiers in their 20s and 30s were injured in the accident at Kråk shooting range outside Karlsborg on Thursday. Five are being treated in intensive care and one of them is very seriously injured, reports P4 Skaraborg.

The accident was caused by an explosion during an exercise and the injured were all employees of the Swedish Armed Forces. What caused the accident is not clear, and the Swedish Armed Forces do not want to say anything about what may have exploded.

A police investigation is underway and we have also decided to initiate a separate investigation, says Mikael Ågren, duty communications officer at the Swedish Armed Forces.
