Birkin Bag Sells for Record 78 Million Kronor at Paris Auction

The very first Birkin bag has been sold for the equivalent of 78 million kronor at an auction in Paris. The bag was designed in 1985 by the French luxury brand Hermès for the actress Jane Birkin. It is the most expensive bag ever, so it is a historic day for the fashion world, says Isabelle Käck Wedelin, acting fashion chief at Kaplans Auktioner to TT.
