During June and July, 3.6 million guest nights were registered in Stockholm, an increase of 8 percent compared with the summer of last year. This is the highest level ever recorded.
"Last summer we could see that tourism was back after the pandemic. Now we are breaking records again," says Waldfogel.
During the period, 1.5 million hotel rooms were rented out and the average price of a room increased by 12 percent to SEK 1,645.
Every third guest night in the capital comes from visitors outside the Nordic region, the Chamber of Commerce writes in a press release.
