The share of electric cars rose to 45 percent in August, compared with 34 percent in the same month last year.
"So far this year, the passenger car market is 2 percent above the corresponding period last year," Mobility Sweden writes in a press release.
However, registrations of heavy trucks and buses are on a downward trend, down 7 percent and 59 percent respectively, according to the organisation's figures.
However, light trucks are keeping pace with passenger cars and are up 27 percent.
