The purchasing managers' index for the manufacturing industry - a kind of thermometer for the economy - rose to 56.1 in August, compared with 55.7 in July, according to Swedbank and the purchasing managers' organisation Silf.
"Swedish industry continues to show robust development, but the results of recent months indicate more of a stabilisation at a high level than a further strengthening of the industrial economy," says Jörgen Kennemar, economist at Swedbank, in a press release.
