Ikea has previously launched similar discounts on certain products. According to the company, the initiative is being taken to support consumers who are still struggling with high living costs.
"We like to lower the price of the umbrella when it rains," says Ingka CEO Juvencio Maeztu.
Inter Ikea Group is lowering its purchase prices for European franchisees, while retailers are also providing additional funds to lower prices for customers. In total, this is an investment of around 1.2 billion euros, approximately 13 billion kronor.
It will also invest 70 million euros, almost 800 million kronor, to mitigate inflation and currency pressure for customers in Asia and North America.
