The portfolio has an installed capacity of 800 megawatts in operation or under construction, and has a network of power lines in Ireland, the UK, Germany and Spain.
Ørsted has previously flagged the deal. The company is also raising new capital to cover setbacks in the US regarding offshore wind power, which has been slowed by the Trump administration.
On Monday, a US court granted Ørsted the right to continue construction of a wind farm off Long Island, New York, which had been halted by the Trump administration. The construction halt had cost Ørsted $2.5 million per day prior to the court ruling.
