Why older people pay more than younger people for mutual funds

Younger savers more often choose to invest in low-cost index funds, while older people tend to have more expensive holdings, according to the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (FI). In long-term savings, small fee differences can grow to hundreds of thousands of kronor, says consumer protection economist Moa Langemark.
