Sweden’s Services PMI Falls to 55.7 in October as Cost Pressures Remain High

The purchasing managers’ index for the private services sector fell in October to 55.7, down from 57.3 the previous month.

At the same time, cost pressures in the sector are higher than normal, with suppliers’ input prices well above the historical average. This could eventually fuel inflation, Swedbank and Silf write in a press release.

The Purchasing Managers’ Index is a business cycle indicator for the Swedish economy compiled by Swedbank and Silf. A reading above 50 indicates growth.
