Data center and semiconductor demand drives Skanska’s record construction order backlog

Construction giant Skanska reports record figures for its construction operations in the third quarter. Its order backlog was the highest in the company's history, Skanska writes in its interim report.

“Investments in data centers and semiconductor facilities, together with stable demand for traditional infrastructure, contributed to the continued growth in the order book,” the company writes in its interim report.

The company’s operating profit amounted to SEK 2.1 billion, compared with expectations of SEK 2.3 billion.

“In the Nordic region, the result was negatively affected by sales in projects with lower profitability and impairments related to non-strategic land holdings and goodwill,” the company writes.
