A search operation is underway after a person fell overboard from a cruise ship northeast of Kapellskär in Norrtälje Municipality.
The alarm was raised at 01:00, and the person is reported to be a man.
“It was seen on camera that the person fell overboard, so that is confirmed. We have a large search operation underway,” says Jörgen Hansson, deputy rescue leader at the Swedish Maritime Administration’s Maritime and Air Rescue Centre. He mentions helicopters from Sweden and Finland, among other resources, as well as many boats.
