Rheinmetall Cuts Full-Year Forecast for Second Time This Year Amid Boxer Delays

For the second time this year, German defence company Rheinmetall has issued a full-year profit warning due to delays in an armoured vehicle programme.

According to a press release on Wednesday, the company now expects sales of around 13.2 billion euros (just over 144 billion kronor) this year, down from its previous forecast of 13.7–14.2 billion euros.

Delays in the Boxer armoured vehicle programme mean that orders have been postponed until next year.

Rheinmetall is also lowering its operating margin forecast to 18.5 percent, from 19 percent.

The company was also forced to lower its sales forecast in August, when the German defence ministry cancelled orders for six frigates.
