US Inflation Rises to 2.7% in May as Consumption Declines

Core inflation in the USA rose to 2.7 percent in May according to the so-called PCE measure. It was unexpectedly much. But consumption in the USA fell simultaneously on a broad front in May, the largest decline so far this year.
