Bulgaria temporarily stops exports of diesel and jet fuel, among other things, to secure domestic supply following sanctions against Russian Lukoil.

There is a serious risk of disruptions in the supply chain and problems with the fuel market, Bulgarian MP Yordan Tsonev, from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms party, told Bloomberg.

The Russian oil company Lukoil, which was recently sanctioned by the US, owns Bulgaria's largest refinery. On Thursday, it was announced that the company is selling its international assets to Swedish oil billionaire Torbjörn Törnqvist's company Gunvor. However, the transaction requires that certain conditions be met. Among other things, the US sanctions agency Ofac must give the go-ahead.

There are several exceptions to Bulgaria's temporary export ban.
