Danish restaurant chain Jensens Bøfhus is leaving Sweden, writes Sydsvenskan. The company is selling its two remaining restaurants in Malmö.

Jensens Bøfhus decided in early 2025 that “the future strategic focus” would be on Denmark.

"Therefore, it was decided to leave the Swedish market and to sell the Swedish restaurants. Those in Stockholm and Jönköping have been sold, and we are in ongoing dialogue with potential buyers of the two remaining restaurants in Malmö," says the company's press officer Sören Mögelvang Nielsen to Sydsvenskan.

The company has had difficulty achieving profitability in its Swedish subsidiary with recurring multi-million-sek losses.

The Malmö restaurants are up for sale for four and fourteen million kronor respectively.
