The construction industry in particular stands out, with 25 percent more bankruptcies in October. In the retail sector, however, bankruptcies decreased by 21 percent.
"The construction industry has experienced a downward trend and some stabilization for several months, so this sudden upturn stands out. The situation is complex to interpret and the uncertainty about the future means that companies are acting cautiously," says Amanda Aldestam, an analyst at UC, in a press release.
