Chevron to invest $7 billion in Venezuela over five years to double oil output

American Chevron will invest $7 billion over the next five years to double its oil production in Venezuela.

This would mean production of 600,000 barrels per day in five years, Bloomberg reports.

The investment is the largest from the American side since the United States ousted the country's former leader Nicolas Maduro through a US military intervention at the beginning of the year.
