Spain’s migration amnesty draws more than 1 million applications as deadline nears

The initial estimate was 500,000. In hindsight, that number has more than doubled. Spain's controversial migration amnesty, under which undocumented migrants are granted a one-year residence permit, is in its final hours and more than a million migrants have submitted applications.
