In a post on Truth Social, Trump accuses Democrats of “going around threatening a lot of people, including the attorney general,” with “impeachment and other forms of punishment.”
“This is blackmail at the highest level,” Trump believes.
“These are the blackmailers who should be put behind bars. Republicans should come to their senses and do it quickly! Leading Democrats have sent threatening letters to many, all of whom are innocent,” the president writes, ending the post by ordering the Justice Department to launch an investigation.
Democratic representatives, who achieved great success in the midterm elections, have openly discussed launching proceedings against parts of the Trump administration.
