In October, Ukraine attacked five Russian data centers, three of which belong to Russian IT giant Yandex. One of the centers, in the Ryazan region, houses two of the company's three supercomputers. One of them ranks as the 19th most powerful in the world.
Yandex has not disclosed the extent of the damage, but satellite images show extensive damage. Some analysts believe that advanced chips and other critical equipment were likely damaged.
Russian law requires all data to be stored within the country's borders, making it vulnerable to these types of attacks.
