Last financial year ended with an operating result of minus 13.3 million kronor for the venerable ice hockey club.
Leksand's board, which took office last summer, writes in a press release that they have now made a revision of the latest annual report. Incorrectly booked costs for player bonuses were then discovered. The result for the previous financial year is therefore approximately 5 million kronor worse than previously reported.
These five new million kronor make the starting position a little worse. Since we have a debt in sign-off bonuses, we have known that. There is no acute liquidity crisis, says Gärdsback to TV4 Play ahead of Leksand's meeting with Modo on Tuesday evening.
The budget for the current financial year, 2024-2025, has also proven to be "optimistic and contain some inaccuracies". Instead of the budgeted zero result, the figures currently point to another significant loss.
The board in Leksand writes that they will take additional short-term measures to try to minimize the loss. They will also negotiate with external investors "to secure the long-term liquidity of the company".
Gärdsback says that the economic situation will not affect the sports performance.
Looking at next year's player budget, it will be slightly smaller, but we're talking about eight percent lower, so there are no drastic cuts, he says.
Leksand's men are currently eighth in the SHL, while the women's team is stuck in last place in the SDHL.
