Linköping's hockey player Oscar Fantenberg may be away the entire upcoming SHL season. He needs to be operated on a second time for his hand injury.

The hand injury he was operated on in the spring was not successful and now he must be operated on again, writes LHC on its website.

The rehabilitation time for the new injury is at least six months and therefore there is a high probability that the 34-year-old will miss the entire season.

"It's clear that the whole situation feels incredibly tough and difficult. All I want is to be out there with the team and represent Linköping Hockey Club", says Fantenberg.

"At the same time: going from getting the message to "you will probably never be able to play hockey again" to "this looks like it will be fine after your rehabilitation" feels very relieving. It has been extremely mentally strenuous the past few weeks, but now somewhere you can slowly but surely see the light in the tunnel."
