On Saturday, a wolf was shot to death outside Mariestad, reports P4 Skaraborg. In the area, hunting with loose dogs was underway, and it was the wolf's interest in the dogs that ultimately led the hunters to shoot.
They tried to scare the wolf away on several occasions, but the wolf did not leave the area where the loose dogs were. It was rather the case that the wolf approached, says Nelly Grönberg, predator handler at the county administrative board.
It is still unclear whether the wolf belonged to one of the territories nearby or if it was just passing by.
