The decision was made by the government on Thursday, after negotiations with Nato, reports SVT.

We have with our Swedish territory an important role to play for Nato's deterrence and defense, says Minister of Defense Pål Jonson (The Moderate Party) to SVT.

About 70 people are expected to be employed by Nato to the logistics staff. Their work will be to handle possible movements of forces of the order of division.

In a war situation, it may be about transporting North American soldiers who arrive via Norwegian ports, through Sweden and further across the Baltic Sea, writes SVT.

One will work with transportation of various supplies, it can be fuel, ammunition, spare parts. It's about being able to transport large resources of material and personnel across the Swedish territory, says Pål Jonson.
