The introduction of the new ground combat uniform, MSU 24, has run into trouble. At the end of July, MSU 24 was paused, since there was a surplus of uniforms in size small and extra small. On the other hand, there were too few copies in larger sizes.
MSU 24 is being introduced gradually in different parts of the Defence Forces. It is enough for one person to lack the right size for the process to be paused. It has gone wrong once before, and now the Defence Forces have taken the help of professional staff to ensure that the measurements are correct.
When we have made control measurements, we have seen that it has gone wrong, especially in leg length. Taking measurements is a professional profession in itself and I think it is a total of 19 different measurements that need to be registered, says Kenneth Felldén, army administrator and introduction manager of MSU 24 to Officerstidningen.
The idea is that the process will be resumed in the autumn, according to the magazine.
