The unique move of Kiruna church from the old town center to the city's new center received a royal visit during the second day's journey.

King Carl Gustaf joined the moving procession at twenty past eleven on Wednesday morning, in the company of Norrbotten's governor Lotta Finstorp. The trailer with the mighty church building was then located on Lastvägen, in an industrial area in the southern part of the city.

It's nice that you can move the church that means so much, said the king to Stefan Holmblad Johansson, project manager at LKAB.

After lunch, the king participated in a church service with music in a church tent in the new center. Then it was time for a world record attempt in church coffee where the king undertook to drink the first of the 3,000 cups that would be emptied.

On Wednesday evening, it became clear that it was a world record for Kiruna.

We broke the record with ease, says Therese Lindroth, chief of staff at LKAB Community Development.

The previous world record in church coffee is held by Kalmar diocese where 2,620 cups of coffee were served in 2007. According to LKAB, 3,187 cups of coffee were consumed during the afternoon.

The king was also present when the procession with the 672 ton heavy building reached its final station at half past two on Wednesday, after two days' journey.
