The 21-year-old Victor Lindgren, who took Olympic silver in Paris last summer, has qualified for his second consecutive World Cup final in 10 meter air rifle. But visa problems are stopping him.
"It would take 2-3 days, but there was a delay for some reason. I only got the answer that it was under process, but I didn't get to know more than that, and now it's too late", Lindgren comments in a press release.
Lindgren has had a successful season and is currently ranked fifth in the world. He and the rest of the highest ranked shooters in the world were qualified for the World Cup final in New Delhi, India, which has just started.
The disappointment over the missed final is great.
"It's sad. This was a competition I looked forward to... but this is something that can happen, so it's just a matter of biting the sour apple."
