Thüringer Coach Accuses Ludwigsburg of Economic Fraud in Handball League

Thüringer fell against Ludwigsburg, who then won the league title, in the semifinal of the German handball league. But according to Thüringer's coach Hubert Müller, Ludwigsburg should never have won any title. This as he suspects that the club has deliberately committed economic fraud. It is a betrayal of the players, the league and all other clubs, he says to the TV channel ZDF's website.

Ludwigsburg is in an economic crisis, applied for bankruptcy in July, and has released all contracted players.

A message that has gotten Thüringers coach Hubert Müller, who is known for not mincing words, to explode.

If they talk about so much money missing, it has been accumulated over the years. You get the feeling that this has been deliberately concealed, he says to Bild.

Without the money, Ludwigsburg would not have been able to afford such a good team, Müller believes.

”A lie”

Müller gets support from Thüringers CEO Maik Schenk:

I must honestly say that last year's season was a fabricated lie. Debts of this size could not have arisen in such a short time, they were obviously living beyond their means.

The Swede supports her friends

One who played for Thüringer last season is the nationally merited Ida Gullberg. She thinks more about her friends who were in Ludwigsburg, who are now without a club, than the missed final spot. In Ludwigsburg, the Swedes Johanna Bundsen, Jenny Carlson, and Sofia Hvenfelt played.

I feel more for those who are in that situation now who are clubless and maybe do not know where their home is.

She continues:

It gives me nothing to be bitter now. Even if they had not had their absolute best players, maybe we would not have gone to the final anyway.
