In the team's two home matches in the qualifying rounds for the European Conference League, against Scottish Hibernian and Olexandrija from Ukraine, Partizan's supporters have hung up a banner with the text "Kosovo is Serbia".

Also "racist and/or discriminatory behavior" and chanting of offensive chants are said to have taken place.

In total, the club will be fined almost one million kronor and close one of its sections, with space for 10,000 spectators, in the next European match.

During the World Championship 2022 in Qatar, the Serbian Football Association was punished after the match against Switzerland. Also that time, Serbian supporters were accused of singing offensive chants about Kosovo.

Kosovo broke away from Serbia and declared independence in 2008 – which has never been accepted by Serbia. Sweden is one of the over 100 countries that have recognized Kosovo as an independent state.
