Paris Saint-Germain were big favourites to win the European Super Cup final against Tottenham. That's what happened after they recovered from a 0-2 deficit and then won on penalties.

The European Super Cup is decided in a final between last season's Champions League winner – Paris SG, and Europa League winner – Tottenham.

When Tottenham made it 2–0 at the beginning of the second half, the Englishmen seemed to be heading for a real upset. But PSG came back and managed to take the match to penalties after a late equalizer in stoppage time.

Once there, it was the French who were coolest from eleven meters and won the penalty shootout with a total of 4–3.

The Swedish super talent Lucas Bergwall was substituted in in the 90th minute for Tottenham, but the 19-year-old did not get to take any of the team's penalties.
