The airline is adding eight new routes from Arlanda, Landvetter, Västerås and Växjö. In total, the airline will have 48 routes from five Swedish airports. The company expects around 400 departures per week, the company announced at a press conference.
Ryanair will, among other things, start flying between Stockholm and Sarajevo. From Gothenburg, there will be departures to Porto, Malta, Milan and Thessaloniki during the winter season.
Domestic flights gone
Previously, there have been speculations that the low-cost airline would resume its domestic flights in Sweden. Ryanair's marketing director Dara Brady says that domestic flights are not relevant as they require both high volume and frequency from the airline.
It's a tough market to get to work if you don't have really high frequency. You can't just run a few times a week, it doesn't work, he says and adds:
And with rising airport fees, it simply doesn't make them as attractive as other routes.
