In a recently released documentary, Brady is heard saying that he is "a little worried about our coach's work ethic".
Rooney, who was fired from Birmingham in January 2024, thinks that Brady was unfair in his criticism.

Rooney says further that "football is not NFL" but that he respects Brady as "one of the greatest if not the greatest athlete ever".
