Tottenham condemns the racist attacks that the French striker Mathys Tel has been subjected to on social media after the Supercup final against PSG.
The 20-year-old missed his penalty in the penalty shootout that “Spurs” lost.
”We are disgusted by the racist hate that Mathys Tel has had to endure on social media after yesterday's loss”, says Tottenham in a statement via their website.
”Mathys showed courage and strength by stepping forward and taking a penalty, but those who attack him are nothing but cowards", continues the club.
Tottenham further announces that they will cooperate with authorities and social media platforms to take “the strongest possible measures against every individual we can identify".
