The recall is due to suspicion of infection with the bacterium listeria, reports the Danish food company Uhrenholt in a press release, according to the news agency Ritzau.

Two people died and at least 19 others were infected earlier in the week with listeria in France.

The French health department is investigating a possible link between the deaths, cases of illness and consumption of the cheese that has already been recalled. The cheese is from the French cheese manufacturer Chavegrand, which has therefore recalled a number of products in France.

For safety reasons, all products produced by the company Chavegrand before June 23 will now also be recalled in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.

People who have eaten the cheese and who have got fever, headache, and muscle pain are urged to contact healthcare, according to the news channel France Info. It concerns cheeses such as camembert, brie, and chèvre that have been sold in stores like Lidl and U around France.
