The fire alarm was reported at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
"It's a fully developed fire in an industrial building. We are there with a comprehensive response," says Mats Gränsmark, alarm and management officer at the rescue service.
There are no reports of injuries.
There are chemicals in the premises.
We are trying to determine what chemicals they are, says Mats Gränsmark.
Extinguishing work is expected to continue for several more hours.
The smoke is heavy and a VMA, important message to the public, has been issued. Residents in the Gamlestaden and Backa areas are urged to go indoors and close doors, windows and ventilation.
