An Israeli delegation is expected to travel to Cairo on Thursday evening for continued negotiations on a ceasefire with Hamas, following talks in Qatar on Wednesday, according to Israeli media.
However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office emphasizes that the talks are only aimed at bringing home the hostages while all goals of Israel's war in Gaza are fulfilled.
He also demands that Israel be given full control over the territory along the Gaza-Egypt border, citing the need to stop weapons from entering Gaza through that route.
The condition is in conflict with Hamas' demand that Israel must withdraw from the entire Gaza Strip after a ceasefire.
