”Today, the air force has once again attacked strategic targets in Yemen: the presidential palace in the heart of Sanaa, the city's power station and the tanks that supply it with fuel”, says Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a written statement.
The Houthi health authority reports that at least four people have been killed and 67 injured in the attacks.
Earlier on Sunday, the IDF stated that a rocket fired from Yemen on Friday was equipped with cluster ammunition. It is the first time that type of projectile, which contains a large number of smaller bombs that spread over a large area, has been fired at the country by the Iran-backed Houthis.
The rocket passed through the Israeli air defense, but no one is said to have been injured.
A week ago, Israel attacked what was described as important energy infrastructure in the Houthi-controlled city.
The Houthi movement has fired rockets and drones at Israel and ships in the Red Sea for nearly two years, according to the movement, it is done in solidarity with the Palestinians in the war-torn Gaza Strip.
