The first body was discovered by a passenger on a passing train. Later the same day, three more bodies were found in the river.
This week, a homeless man in his 20s was arrested. According to a court document, the man's identity has not been established. The prosecutor states that he has refused to answer questions, but investigators are said to have established a link between the man and the four dead men – all men between 21 and 46 years old.
The men are said to have been seen on walking paths along the Seine, where the suspected murderer is also believed to have been. Two of the bodies were partially undressed when they were pulled out of the river. Two of them are said to have had signs of strangulation.
The murder suspect is said to have been arrested for the first time a week before the bodies were found and was then carrying documents that later turned out to belong to one of the victims.
