Most of those released have been accused of corruption in connection with the mayoral offices held by the opposition. Also, Congressman Américo de Grazia, who was arrested during protests at the re-election of Nicolás Maduro as president in 2024, is among those released.

Américo de Grazia is one of two among opposition politicians who hold Italian citizenship. The Italian government confirms that they have been released.
