The British silver medalist in the 100-meter breaststroke, Adam Peaty, has tested positive for covid-19. The British Olympic Committee says in a statement that Peaty began to feel unwell the day before the 100-meter final.
A few hours after the final, the symptoms had worsened and he tested positive for covid on Monday morning.
Adam Peaty now hopes for a quick recovery and hopes to participate in Friday's mixed 4x100 meter medley and the men's 4x100 meter medley on Saturday and Sunday.
