Sophie Hansson turns 27 years old today. But any final spot on 50 meter breaststroke, at the World Championship in Singapore, she did not manage to get.

Hansson was a tenth away when she in the semifinal swam at 30.47, 16 hundredths from her personal record.

I am very pleased with the swimming itself and the time is absolutely the fastest this year. I will take that with me. But it would have been so nice with a final spot, she says to SVT.

This morning's attempt saw Hansson swim at 30.71. In the semifinal it went significantly faster.

I am pleased with that, I did the first part so much better than this morning.

Hansson has previously taken European Championship gold on 100 meter breaststroke, but has changed focus for her competition to the 50-meter distance due to long-standing back problems.

The back problems have improved this year, it is going in the right direction, and I have changed my training more to 50. This race shows that I respond to it, she says.

Victor Johansson did not manage to reach the final on 1,500 meters.
