The Dow Jones industrial index rose 0.6 percent, the broad S&P 500 closed unchanged, while the technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index fell 0.2 percent.
During the day, figures were released showing that the US GDP increased more than expected during the second quarter. In a new calculation, the GDP rose to 3.0 percent in annual rate compared to 2.8 percent in the first measurement.
Cybersecurity company Crowdstrike rose 2.8 percent since the company's quarterly report turned out to be better than expected.
