In a speech on Saturday, the country's Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said that the revenues, estimated at 62 million dollars annually (353 million kronor), will be reinvested in the destinations.
Luxon also said that he had heard that foreign visitors "are shocked that they can visit some of the most beautiful places in the world for free".
It is only fair that foreign visitors to these places pay an extra fee, continued Christopher Luxon.
The destinations that will be subject to a fee are Cathedral Cove, Tongariro Crossing, Milford Track and Mount Cook, where 80 percent of the visitors are foreign tourists.
New Zealanders will still be able to visit the places for free.
