”She contributed with impressive experience and academic insights to her work in the board”, says Fed chief Jerome Powell in a press release.

Kugler has not announced why she is leaving, writes AP. She did not participate in the Fed's policy meeting earlier in the week.

It is now up to the President of the USA Donald Trump to choose Kugler's replacement. Trump is dissatisfied with the Fed's decision to leave the interest rate unchanged and has repeatedly attacked Jerome Powell and, among other things, called him a ”stubborn idiot”

Actually, Kugler would have sat on the board until the end of January next year.
