Under just over four minutes in the second period of the preseason game against Phoenix, both father and son were on the court.

And at the same time, a family dream came true.

It was cool for both of us and especially for our family. It's definitely a moment I'll never forget, says 39-year-old LeBron James.

Since Bronny James was drafted by the Lakers last summer, it was only a matter of time before the historic moment would occur. Still, it seems like dad LeBron wasn't entirely prepared for it:

We came out of a timeout and stood like next to each other. I looked at him. It felt like being in "The Matrix" or something. It just didn't feel like it was real, says the American giant.

The Los Angeles Lakers will start their NBA season at home against Minnesota on October 22.

Bronny, who turned 20 on Sunday, is expected to spend most of the season in the Lakers' development team.

LeBron, who was part of the USA's gold team in the Olympic Games in Paris last summer, played his first NBA season even before his son was born.
