The world's attention is focused on Kiruna. The fact that the 672 ton heavy wooden church from 1912 is to be moved is being noticed in several international media, such as Forbes, Reuters and BBC.
"A choreographed spectacle", writes the American news agency AP.
The Danish news agency Ritzau points out that the king is on site and will participate in a church service in connection with the move.
"The church, which is built in red-painted wood, is considered one of Sweden's most beautiful churches", writes Ritzau.
British The Sunday Times writes that "the people of Kiruna will celebrate with a schlager party when Sweden's historic favorite building is moved" and refers to the fact that Swedish Eurovision participants Kaj will perform in Kiruna on Tuesday.
"Such a move you have never ever seen", writes German Bild.
Die Welt, also German, takes it heavily and calls the church in Kiruna "one of the world's most famous churches".
"The iconic red wooden church was transported on a special convoy with several trucks", writes the newspaper.
"The move of one of the country's most beautiful buildings becomes a folk festival", writes Austrian public service company ORF.
