The German handball club Ludwigsburg applied for bankruptcy and suddenly three Swedish national team players were left without an employer. Now the goalkeeper Johanna Bundsen has signed for the French top club Metz.

”The last few weeks have been difficult considering everything that has happened. But I have tried to take one day at a time”, says Bundsen to the club's website.

Metz has four consecutive league titles in France and has won the domestic championship ten times in the last twelve seasons. The club has reached the final weekend in Champions League the last two years. In Metz, the Swedish national team player Tyra Axnér is already playing.

After applying for bankruptcy, Ludwigsburg released its players, but Aftonbladet reports that Sofia Hvenfelt will continue in the club, which will try to play in Bundesliga next season with a reduced squad. The team won the league in the spring.

Where Jenny Carlson, the club's third Swede, will play next season is not yet clear.
