Omotoyossi's former French club Metz confirms the death on X.
"The club wants to express its deepest condolences to both his family and his closest ones", writes the Ligue 1 club.
Razak Omotoyossi became known to the Swedish football audience during his two years in Helsingborg in 2007 and 2008. With Henrik Larsson as a teammate, HIF's new attacking acquisition made immediate success and already in the first season took a shared first place in the Allsvenskan scoring league with 14 goals made.
Then followed a few years in Saudi al-Nassr and French FC Metz before he returned to Sweden for shorter stays, first in Gais and then in Syrianska.
Razak Omotoyossi was born in Nigeria but chose to represent Benin's national team, where he made 21 goals in 55 international matches.
